A New Kind of We
This is the story that follows Kim and Fredrik, a couple whose relationship has changed since Kim became ill with ME (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis). Fredrik is healthy and working, while Kim navigates life with a chronic condition. Illness doesn't just affect the person who gets sick; it also deeply impacts the relationships around them. This story explores how their bond has evolved through the challenges of everyday life and shifting roles.
Even though their energy levels are very different, and the relationship has change from being a couple who traveled, hosted parties, and did a lot together there is still deep love and joy in each other’s company. One of their favorite activities these days is watching movies together and on good days, play video games.
Today is grocery shopping day, one of the most energy draining activities for Kim, so Fredrik take care of some of the hous chores so she can get some rest. On the way to the store, she needs to take a break, and Fredrik shows patience and care. Back home, Kim rests for a while again, this time alone in the bedrome and slowing down her sences before it’s time to start preparing dinner.
Fredrik leaves for work while Kim faces another long day at home alone. She says misses the freedom a healthy body once gave her.
